Cookery Course Skill Levels
We offer 4 distinct levels that are suitable for cooks of all level of experience. It also allows you plan your progress up the skill levels to reach the level of cookery that you are aiming for at your own pace.
Our skill levels are designed to help you make an assessment as to your own skill level to ensure you select the most suitable course and get the most out of the experience. If you are unsure of your skill level or would like some assistance you can contact us here.
Entry Level  |
No previous experience of cooking required. |
Level 1 |
Aimed at the enthusiastic home cook. You will be familiar with cookery equipment and concepts but no special skills are required. Completion of a level 1 course will give you the fundamental skills, techniques, recipes and presentation skills to cook with confidence in your chosen area. If you cook meals regularly and would like to become more confident in a particular cuisine, or cookery technique then this is the level for you. |
Level 2  |
You will be quite competent in the kitchen, able to cook fish, a roast dinner for six people, make a stew, do a stir fry or a dinner party. You will work with more complex techniques and recipes than the level 1 courses, and once completed you will be able to produce delicious, well presented courses with confidence. |
Level 3 |
You will be a confident cook, with good knife skills and proficient in cooking and experience of basic butchery, simple fish filleting, reduced sauces, pastry and bread. You will learn advanced techniques and recipes with a focus on good presentation.

Level 4  |
Our most advanced course offers cookery training to a fine-dining standard. You must have completed a level 3 course to attend this course or have demonstrable catering experience. |
